R.II is the funerary anointing of a dead body: Like Aphrodite anointed Hektors body in rose oil prior to his embalming. It is the wafts of funerary smoke at the pyre; Like sweet brimstone from the gates of the infernal. We are laid to rest: used to feed, conjure, and tend the dead. Immortal, like the rose.
